We’re going with iREAD this year. Our theme is “Off the Beaten Path”. I’m looking for any PLIX type ideas for SRP.

Yes! A lot of states do iREAD, but PLIX just hasn’t had a chance to connect with that group yet.
Jean, I wonder if you want to change your thread title to something like “Beyond the Beaten Path” activity ideas or to match the other one I posted, maybe PLIX libraries’ take on “Beyond the Beaten Path” programming? As the iREAD page says, “STEM is very easy to work into this theme because of its nature and outdoor aspects but you can also have space camp and math camp and science camp.”
- Summer Camp generally is a good match to the PLIX Urban Ecology activities, especially the Sensory Nature Walk.
- Space Camp would be a great time to do the PLIX Space Food prompts, PLIX CubeSats, and I’m thinking of the dataviz tools I mentioned in the Oceans thread.
- Math Camp would be a great time for PLIX Beautiful Symmetry and DataBasic activity prompts (which I know you are doing now as a take-n-make kit)
- etc.!
Thanks for asking this… I’m eager to hear from others what they are doing in their libraries with this theme.
